If you forgot your Wi-Fi network password or want to quickly share it with another person, you can find it on a Windows PC that has connected to your Wi-Fi network. After you find your password, you can use it on another PC or device to connect to your Wi-Fi network by scanning the QR code or entering the network details. 

Find your network password in Settings

To do this, select the Start  button, then select Settings Network & internet Properties , then, next to Wi-Fi network password, select Show.Screenshot of Windows Settings on Wi-Fi profile page, with Show Wi-Fi network password highlighted in red.

Note: You can also view the password of saved networks on the Manage known networks page by selecting any network and then Show next to Wi-Fi network password

Find your network password in Quick Settings 

Select the quick settings cluster    in your taskbar, and then locate the Wi-Fi  quick action. Select Manage Wi-Fi connections  , then select the network you are connected to and then the Properties icon to quickly open the Settings page. Then, next to Wi-Fi network password, select Show.    

On another Windows PC or other device, scan the QR code to connect if the device supports it, or connect to Wi-Fi as you normally would and enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted. For more info about connecting to Wi-Fi, see Connect to a Wi-Fi network in Windows.

If you forgot your Wi-Fi network password, you can find it if you have another Windows PC already connected to your Wi-Fi network. After you find your password, you can use it on another PC or device to connect to your Wi-Fi network. Here's how

  1. Select the Start  button, then select Settings Network & Internet Status Network and Sharing Center.

  2. In Network and Sharing Center, next to Connections, select your Wi-Fi network name.

  3. In Wi-Fi Status, select Wireless Properties.

  4. In Wireless Network Properties, select the Security tab, then select the Show characters check box. Your Wi-Fi network password is displayed in the Network security key box.

On another Windows PC or other device, connect to Wi-Fi as you normally would, and enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted. For more info about connecting to Wi-Fi, see Connect to a Wi-Fi network in Windows.
