ISSUE

When the Out of Office (Automatic Replies) are configured for an On-premises Exchange mailbox using the settings in the Outlook for iOS and Android apps, the settings will appear to be set but will revert to the previous setting once the settings options are closed from within in the app.

STATUS: INVESTIGATING

The Outlook and Exchanges Online teams are investigating why these changes made in the Outlook for iOS and Android apps do not get replicated from the Synchronized Data in Exchange Online to the On-premises Exchange. We will update this topic when we have more information about any potential future changes. 

WORKAROUND

If a user has access to the On-premises Exchange mailbox in OWA, the user can set these settings directly on the On-premises mailbox as described in the article, Send automatic (out of office) replies in Outlook.
