In Teams for your personal life, your Activity Feed shows notifications for items such as unread messages, @mentions, replies, and reactions in your chats.

Customizing your app Notifications in Teams

  1. Tap your profile picture, then tap Settings  Settings button.

  2. Tap Notifications  The Notifications button, then tap General activity, where you can:
    Android notification settings

    • Turn the toggle Allow notification dot on or off

    • Turn the toggle Notifications on or off.

    • Turn the toggle Apps on Teams notifications on or off.

    • Turn the toggle Calls notifications on or off.

    • Turn the toggle Ongoing Calls notifications on or off.

    • Turn the toggle Channels notifications on or off.

    • Turn the toggle Chats notifications on or off.

    • Turn the toggle Files notifications on or off.

    • Turn the toggle Meetings notifications on or off.

    • Turn the toggle Mentions notifications on or off.

    • Turn the toggle Others notifications on or off.

    • Turn the toggle Reactions notifications on or off.

    • Turn the toggle Suggestions notifications on or off.

    • Turn the toggle Tasks notifications on or off.

    • Turn the toggle App updates notifications on or off.

      Note: Notification settings are separate if you’ve added a work account to your Teams. You will need to switch to your work account to customize them.

  3. You can also disable or enable notifications during quiet time, active on desktop or when in meetings.

Customizing your app Notifications in Teams

  1. Tap your profile picture or More More button, then tap Settings  Settings button.

  2. Tap Notifications  The Notifications button, where you can:

    Note: If you are missing any notification options, they may be disabled on your device. Learn more about troubleshooting notifications in Teams.

    • Adjust the General activity notifications.

      • You can turn Chats notifications on or off.

      • You can turn Mentions notifications on or off.

      • You can turn Reactions notifications on or off.

    • Adjust the Meetings notifications.

    • Disable or enable notifications during quiet time, active on desktop or when in meetings.

    • Select your custom Notification sound.

      Note: In-app notification settings are separate if you’ve added a work account to your Teams. You will need to switch to your work account to customize them.

    • Turn the toggle for Play sound for incoming calls and notifications on or off.

    • Select the Edit button in the Chat section, where you can:

      • Select Banner or Off for your replies.

      • Select Banner and feedOnly show in feed, or Off for Likes and reactions.

  2. Select Notifications The Notifications button, where you can:

  • Adjust your Appearance and sound notification settings.

  • Select Teams built-in or Mac for your Notification Style.

  • Turn the toggle for Play sound for incoming calls and notifications on or off.

  • Select the Edit button in the Chat section, where you can:

  • Select Banner and feedOnly show in feed, or Off for Likes and reactions.
